"Supporting Bipolar Individuals In Times of Need to Thrive and Rebuild Their Lives"
Losing a job can be devastating for any person. Bipolar people often find themselves struggling to find stability and hold on to their jobs. This often happens because they are not used to their new medications or they are still adjusting to their condition. However, this does not mean that their essence is lost.
Bipolar people can be very intelligent and creative, energetic, empathetic… a lot to be proud of. Brilliant Bipolar is an organization that sees bipolar people for who they are and perceive their potential.
Some people have private disability policies in place that protect them when they are convalescent, but what about the rest? When you lose a job, not only you lose income, but it is also a blow to your self-esteem. And having financial pressure can also affect relationships.
The idea behind Brilliant Bipolar is to provide financial support to bipolar people while they are independent so that they do not enter into financial distress. We also want to focus on prevention and awareness campaigns and provide extraordinary support through a comprehensive network of coaches.
Individuals that are enrolled in Brilliant Bipolar will also have access to Recovery and Addiction Recovery Coaches, Career Transitioning Coaches, Financial Planning Coaches, Mindset Coaches, Transformational Coaches, Relationship Coaches, Fitness and Nutrition Coaches, High Performance Coaches and Mindfulness/Spiritual Coaches.
Our goal is that while bipolar people are unemployed, on top of receiving psychiatric treatment and psychotherapy through the usual channels, there is a whole array of services available for them to prepare them for the next stage of their lives so they are not only mentally ready, but in all aspects.
Brilliant Bipolar was founded in 2024 by Nacho Ruiz Hens. Here is an explanation of the reasons why he created Brilliant Bipolar, in his own words:
When I was diagnosed with bipolar, my world was shattered. I was hospitalized twice in a mental hospital for almost two months, in total. I refused medication at one point and was not in control. I was fired from two jobs and had 4 different jobs in 5 years.
After 15 years of marriage, my wife and I decided to split up, and to top it all, I had strong unhelpful thought patterns that could have ended my pain. I felt helpless, hopeless and couldn’t stop feeling sorry for myself.
There is nothing special about my story.
A lot of bipolar people face the same struggles with work, finances and relationships. Luckily for me, I broke myself out of social isolation when I went on my annual vacation to visit my family in Spain in 2023. It was there that I reconnected with my passion and started the journey to my new life and acceptance of my diagnosis.
Now my life is very different. I have a job, I am making plans, I am motivated, energized, enjoying the present, and looking forward to the future. I want to help others to embrace, accept and thrive in their lives, with a bipolar diagnosis.
I want to make sure that people have all the support they need when they need it the most.
